With the benefits of sandalwood, tulsi, neem, and rose, this blend will help keep your skin cool and calm. Let’s explore how chemical soaps can affect the skin and learn how to make Ayurvedic herbal bath powder.

Why soaps can be harmful to the skin?

Not all soaps are toxic, but many soaps and body washes on the market contain chemicals that can affect your skin in the long run. Even herbal soaps can sometimes damage sensitive skin. Using chemical-laden soap on the body, especially during the summer, can increase the risk of heat rash and infection. These soaps react with sweat and promote the growth of germs.

According to Dr. Neeti Kautish, OBS and Senior Gynecologist at Fortis Escorts, Faridabad, most soaps contain Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS), which should be avoided as much as possible. This is particularly important for the private parts. If you have any infections or allergies in those areas, it is better to use products without SLS, as products that contain SLS can worsen your condition. Fragrances, parabens, SLES, SLS and triclosan present in common soaps are not suitable for the skin.
