The Neighbors and This Is Us stars join Russell Crowe in the new film

Neighbours star Daniel MacPherson and This is who we are Beloved Milo Ventimiglia has joined the cast of Russell Crowe’s next big screen project.

Titled Country of Evilthis film is set to begin production later this month Submarine Director Will Eubank calls the shots (via Variety).

Westworld Regular Luke Hemsworth is also part of the cast, along with Liam Hemsworth (Hunger Games), Ricky Whittle (American Gods) and Chika Ikogwe (The Tourist).

McPherson is best known for his role as Joel Samuels in the soap Ramsay Street and recently returned for his latest episodes.

Country of Evil introduces us to Air Force drone pilot Crowe, Reaper, in the Southern Philippines assisting a Delta Force special operations mission.

The official synopsis reveals: “After the mission goes horribly wrong, Reaper has 48 hours to fix what has turned into a wild rescue operation. The Tier-One team, led by Cpt Sugar (Ventimigila) and Sgt Abel (Luke Hemsworth) is reassigned to return and retrieve their captured man and the property.

“With them is Kinney (Liam Hemsworth), a green Air Force JTAC officer who is thrust into the middle of a high-stakes mining operation.

“But the ground mission suddenly turns upside down and becomes a full-scale battle when the team is discovered by the enemy. With no weapons and no communication other than the drone above, the Reaper becomes the young operator’s only ticket.”

This is a different role for Oscar-winner Crowe, who most recently inspired some godlike brilliance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Thor: God and Thunderof Jupiter.
