Keanu Reeves is returning to DC for the Constantine sequel

Keanu Reeves to helm DC’s revival of 2005 supernatural thriller Constantine in which he starred.

According DeadlineThe John Wick The actor is set to reunite in the sequel with director Francis Lawrence, who directed the first film in the franchise. The screenplay will be written by Akiva Goldsman.

Goldsman will also co-produce Star WarsJJ Abrams and Hannah Minghella.

Reeves will reprise his role as supernatural exorcist and demonologist John Constantine, who appears to die in the original film but ends up hanging around to save his soul, protecting the demons from hell from infringing on Earth.

In the film he also fights the archangel Gabriel and Lucifer.

Meanwhile, Reeves is gearing up for his fourth installment John Wickwhich, according to director Chad Stahelski, will be the franchise’s longest film to date.

Still untitled John Wick 4 it will run at least 132 minutes, since the third installment will be 131 minutes in total.

The director also gave an update on how far along the film is, saying, “We’re in the final stretch of locking the image and then we have our music VFX. But this is the furthest I’ve ever gone. So in the post.

“We love the music we have so far. We still have Tyler Bates composing some of the bigger sequences. The VFX will be coming throughout the rest of the year. But we’re dangerously close.

“In our edit, as far as locking our image, we’re within minutes of locking. Our sequences are finished. The film is basically done. There’s probably another couple of weeks of tweaking in total, then we lock the image and it’s about the music , sound and effects.”

There is currently no release date for the Constantine follow.
