Gucci X Tommey Walker’s Detroit Vs. All

On September 8, to celebrate the opening of Gucci’s Downtown Detroit boutique and Detroit Month of Design, Gucci will continue its groundbreaking collaboration with one of the world’s most diverse and creative cities, launching the second chapter of its collaboration with the designer of Detroit, Tommey. Walker and his home label, DETROIT VS. ALL. The second iteration returns with a customized DETROIT VS. EVERYBODY patches appear in Gucci’s Off the Grid collection. The Off the Grid line was created to support the House’s vision of circular production that uses recycled, organic, organic and sustainable materials. The limited-edition collection will include a baseball cap, backpack and belt bag, all of which will be sold exclusively at the Detroit store starting September 8u. Designed for those conscious of their environmental impact, the collection celebrates the connection between Gucci and Walker, supporting Tommey’s vision for increasing representation in the industry through Gucci’s Changemakers’ Impact Fund.

Speaking about the 2.0 collection, Tommey Walker says, “I am even more excited and proud of my 2.0 collaboration with Gucci as Gucci continues to speak. and now demonstrates its long-term commitment to Detroit as a change agent in its own right.”

To usher in the second chapter of the collaboration, Gucci once again teamed up with a local Detroit production house on a video anthem that showcases Detroit through the lens of the organic patterns that make up the fabric of the city. Narrated by Tommey Walker and a vintage Gucci CadillacSeville, DETROIT VS. EVERYONE’s cooperation is emphasized throughout.

In 2021, Gucci Changemakers collaborated with designer Tommey Walker and his homegrown label DETROIT VS. ALL in a special line of donated t-shirts to benefit non-profit organizations. The collaboration marked the first time Gucci has introduced a product collaboration under the Changemakers umbrella. Combining Italian craftsmanship and Detroit industrial savoir-faire, the collaboration used the fabric and raw materials of Gucci and VS. EVERYBODY graphic to underscore the like-minded creative vision and brand ideals that House and Tommey Walker are inherently known for. Tommey’s signature DETROIT VS. The EVERYBODY logo was revamped to celebrate the 11 Gucci Changemaker focus cities, first identified in 2019 for the launch of the program, which included Atlanta, Chicago, Detroit, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New Orleans, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco and Washington DC
