Gucci “Exquisite” Releases New adidas Collaboration

Gucci’s collaboration with adidas has resulted in the Alessandro Michele helmet house becoming the most popular brand in the world, and after doubling up on these impressive collections with teases of Harry Styles’ “HA HA HA” collection, a campaign featuring Billie Eilish and another campaign for the ‘Exquisite’ collection which referenced the films of Stanley Kubrick. Now, the “Exquisite” collection is out, and full of her usual runway goods it’s a comprehensive second collaboration with adidas for both men and women.

Debuting during Milan Fashion Week Fall 2022, the ‘Exquisite’ collection saw Gucci explore tailoring with a sporty tone, combining elements of its house with adidas iconography for the collaboration that we never knew we needed. Top looks were awash in faux fur, studded leathers, sparkling crystals, tulle and lace, while adidas pieces were crafted in mohair and silk, elevating the athleisure image with Michele’s love and fascination for her limbs. luxury.

Nothing portrays this like the duchess’ silk gown, a $17,500 Ivory number that oozes royal realness. From the ruffle collar to the balloon sleeves, this floor-length piece focuses on adidas’ Trefoil logo set within a corset-like band, drawing attention to the cinched waist. Although a women’s garment, it sets the tone for what is to come from the rest of the collection. For example, a reversible corset combines both of the house’s signatures, while traditional elements such as the Prince of Wales’s check seep into the double-breasted jacket and matching culottes.

Jogging sets are made in a cream mohair knit, with a hood adding a touch of antiquity to the high-quality look. This is echoed by Adidas’ overtly sporty branded knit hoods and berets, while the menswear flagship – a $13,800 USD wool and cape – continues this regal Renaissance style. Here, caramel wool is lined with brown leather, detailing closures and pockets before black shearling lines the bottom of the piece, providing that sense of importance.

Men’s boots play on this theme, being pointed and heeled, but sporting laces and Three Stripes branding, while a Trefoil coat in green brings a more contemporary aesthetic. Rounding out the adidas lineup are wedge platform gazelles, black leather driving gloves, knee-high boots and accessories including socks.
