The upcoming Super Mario Bros The film has confirmed when the first trailer will debut – and we don’t have much time yet.
The highly-anticipated animated film is set to see Chris Pratt voicing the iconic Nintendo character, although the look of the project and how the actors will sound have so far been kept under wraps.
However, we now know we’ll be getting our first look in a few weeks, with New York Comic-Con confirming that the trailer will be released October 6 at 4 p.m. ET (8 p.m. GMT).
“Join us on October 6th at 4pm ET for the premiere of the teaser trailer for Nintendo & Illumination’s upcoming Super Mario Bros movie, coming out on April 7th, 2023,” he tweeted.
Along with Pratt, the film will star Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan Michael-Key as Toad and Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong.
Actor Mario recently teased what his voice will be like for the Italian plumber, revealing that it will be different than you might expect.
“I worked very closely with the directors and tried a few things and came up with something that I’m really proud of and can’t wait for people to see and hear,” Pratt said. Variety.

“It’s an animated narrative. It’s not a live-action movie. I’m not going to wear a plumber’s suit running around. I’m providing a voice for an animated character and it’s updated and unlike anything you’ve done heard on Mario world before”.
However, Pratt’s casting has caused some controversy, although producer Chris Meledandri defended the casting of the actor.
“As a person of Italian-American heritage, I feel I can make this decision without offending Italians or Italian-Americans,” he said earlier this year. “I think we will do well. Especially because [Pratt] has given such a strong performance.”
The Super Mario Bros. The film is expected to be released on April 7, 2023 in the US.
