Apple presents the new iPhone 14 series

On Thursday, September 8, 2022, Apple announced the launch of the advanced iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max series of phones. The Pro models feature a redesigned pill-shaped screen opening around which Apple added a Dynamic Island for notifications and live activity tracking.

Interestingly enough, both the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max remove the SIM tray for the US models, allowing users to more quickly and easily set up their device.



What’s new in iPhone 14?

With the introduction of Dynamic Island, the TrueDepth camera has been redesigned to take up less of the screen area. Without obstructing the content on the screen, Dynamic Island maintains an active state to allow users easier access to controls with a simple tap and hold.

Dynamic Island is a contextual black box that will now appear around the notch on the iPhone 14. This means it allows users to toggle Do Not Disturb (DND), monitor the duration of their phone calls, check the battery life on their AirPods or even display a sports score.

The new addition to the Proline packs evolved like 4K cinema mode support, collision detection, water and dust resistance, and satellite communications that are available across the iPhone 14 lineup. As for what stands out, the new iPhone Pro they come with a smaller notch as the new cameras placed inside are now 30% smaller. In addition, the space around the cutout has been changed to allow easier access to controls for ongoing background activities such as maps, music, or a timer.

It packs a powerful A16 Bionic system chip, the fastest chip ever in a smartphone. This combined with a 6-core CPU, a 5-core GPU and a 16-core neural engine allows it to process 17 trillion operations per second.

Battery performance has been revamped with Apple claiming 29 hours of video playback. It offers a resolution of 1179 x 2556 pixels with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9.

The iPhone 14 Pro comes with an upgraded camera with the main lens offering 48-megapixel images, where shots will combine four pixels into one large one for better images.

You have the option to choose from 128GB, 256GB, 512GB or 1TB storage options. The iPhone 14 Pro is available in space black, silver, gold and deep purple color options. As for size, the iPhone 14 Pro is 5.81 x 2.81 x 0.31 inches and weighs just 7.27 ounces.

The iPhone 14 Pro Max looks a lot like the iPhone 14 Pro but on a larger scale with a bigger battery. It also packs a powerful A16 Bionic system chip that offers 50 percent more memory bandwidth perfect for graphics-intensive games and applications, and a new 16-core Neural Engine capable of nearly 17 trillion operations per second.

It offers a resolution of 1290 x 2796 pixels with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 and the battery performance has the same 29 hours of video playback. With the iPhone 14 Pro Max, you also get to choose from 128GB, 256GB, 512GB or 1TB storage options.

The iPhone 14 Pro Max also comes in space black, silver, gold and deep purple color options. The Pro Max comes in at 6.33 x 3.06 x 0.31 inches and weighs 8.47 ounces.
