A fan stops the NFL season opener by sprinting onto the field at SoFi Stadium with a pink FLARE… only to be brutally tackled by security before Micah Hyde throws a firework away
- A fan ran onto the field about midway through the fourth quarter, stopping the game
- She was rocking a pink flare and wearing a factory beat shirt
- Micah Hyde picked up the flare and threw it as far as he could
A protester tried to steal the show during the Buffalo Bills’ elimination of the Los Angeles Rams in Thursday night’s NFL season opener.
About halfway through the fourth quarter, a woman ran onto the field with a pink flare, causing the game to be halted for several minutes.
The fan was tackled by the safety at the 30-yard line as she approached the Bills defense. Once confronted by the tackle, the fan threw the flare, which was scooped up by Buffalo safety Micah Hyde and thrown as far down the field as possible.

The fan’s T-shirt read ‘righttoresecue.com’ in bold black letters. The site brings visitors to a petition that states it wants to help provide immediate action to redress the abuses of the factory farming industry around the world and protect whistleblowers who expose this misconduct and help suffering animals.
The bright pink smoke from the flare led some on social media, including ESPN’s Emmanuel Acho, to question whether the field invasion was actually part of a gender reveal.
“Ummm, just revealed a streak or a gender on the field!” Acho wrote of the incident in a video he posted on Twitter.

While it doesn’t appear to have been a gender reveal, and thankfully it wasn’t wrong, the brightly colored smoke was nonetheless one of the only bright spots for Los Angeles.
The Rams were outscored 31-10 in what was perhaps the worst opening performance by a defending Super Bowl champion in recent memory.
LA’s defense might want to consider taking some tackling lessons from the safeties — and Thursday night they looked as defeated as the field goalie when she was dragged off the field.
